The following is a post I initially wrote for ActiveRain last night. Be it from Fred’s great picture, or possibly my great wordsmithin’ (though I doubt it), or just the flat-out generosity of ActiveRain…. whatever or however isn’t important. What’s important is that a hero gets honored today.
THIS post won’t be a feature…but maybe it should be
In honor of Steve Noble. Semper Fi.
Posts like this one don’t get featured- and I think I know why. I mean, this is a “real estate site”. It’s one where few of us would visit were we not a little interested in “real estate stuff”. Features are about mortgage rates, closing techniques and even some boring ol’ property management-type things like repairs.
I’m honest enough to admit that I’ve written posts I considered feature-worthy, only to be disappointed when they weren’t included amongst that day’s “best of the best”. And I hardly thought either of the two featured posts I’ve had would take off as they did. So much for predicting…
This feature-worthy post is to honor the memory of Marine Steve Noble- who passed away on March 1st at the too-dang-young age of 50.Dang cancer…thinks it always has to be the center of attention. But not this time. Thisshould-be-featured tale is an inspiring one- as all who read it will surely agree.
From ensuring that America’s heroes that went before him had America’s colors flying over their resting places..to the “Wreaths Across America campaign that featured wreaths for veterans’ cemeteries at holiday time…to helping fellow veterans toward the end when his health was even worse than their’s, Steve Noble’s efforts are most worthy of a hearty salute.
Well done, Marine. Semper Fi.
