Sometimes, “There’s good in everything” is a bunch of baloney

I’ll even call “crap” on this one…at least for today.  I’ve bought into the idea in the past (and might even do so again one day), but the last day or so has presented a case for exceptions to the rule on this one.

You see, one of our little dogs has died.  The beautiful little girl pictured here- in a photo from a yard sale we had a couple of years ago when she thought she was a stuffed animal- has breathed her last down here.  She had a rough couple of years as her thyroid gland failed her, but she weathered her little medical storm like a champ.  She never cried, never whimpered- and always knew she was the biggest and baddest little dog on the planet.

“Baby” is breathing fine, now- and her thyroid’s fixed, too.  And if anyone in Heaven had a stuffed turtle, she’s probably already snatched it from ’em and ran with it.

She was so dang funny, too- if there was anything on the floor, she’d go over and lay on it. Blanket…shirt…sock….piece of paper- she just thought that anything that happened to be on the floor that wasn’t the floor was something put down there just for her to lay on.

Trying to find any good in this is a joke, and conventional wisdom is indeed crap.  My manly self has cried more in the last day or so over the little one than she ever cried in her 13 years- so I’m still on the hunt for that elusive “something good” here.

“Baby”, 1998-2012….Rest in peace, little buddy…
