Pedestrian Tales From the Middle of the Road, #24

Just ahead of our Independence Day getaways, yet another senseless and preventable death in Orlando.  Of note- as I write this, a news update report has just spoken of a roadway here being shut down.  It’s in an area that may very well have seen Pedestrian Tales From the Middle of the Road, #25 before I’ve finished speaking of #24…

This article here is fairly informative, but has left out a couple of things about the story.  First, this gentleman that for all intents and purposes chose to take his own life by standing in the middle of the street had just been released from the Orange County Jail.  It was also a few pretty good hits the deceased absorbed- he was hit by 2 or 3 vehicles, and at least one of those was a semi truck.

May God bless both the family of the gentleman that died here and the driver and his family as well.

Orange County Sheriff Jerry Demings and Orlando Police Chief Paul Rooney:  this is another one on your watch.  How many more before you think about seriously addressing pedestrian safety by enforcing the law as you’ve sworn to do?
