Underwater owners still singin’ the blues…

Some things just don’t seem right- never have, probably never will. One of those things is how some folks enjoy laying up in their homes without paying a dime for as long as their luck holds- while those choosing the path of right in looking to honor their mortgage obligations while underwater struggle and struggle.

A number of programs over the past few years have seemed like just the elixir to cure the ills of the latter- but high hopes have disappeared as quickly as the midway snake oil salesmen of carnie days past.

HAMP‘s “M” served very few- and many that were served weren’t really helped by the program when their mortgage payments went up rather than down, were they?

As this article indicates, HARP has been a little better for folks- but that doesn’t say much when the other programs’ success rates have been woeful at best. Here’s hoping something down the road will help the good guys…
