Can a Conservative Change.org petition survive?

I don’t know… but I’m gonna find out.

I don’t know about everyone else- but I’ve been asked to sign a ton of liberal petitions over the last year or so. I’ve been asked to help get someone’s granny out of prison (more than one of those, I believe). I’ve been asked to help “force” an untold number of private businesses into doing something contrary to their policies- because a few folks just thought they deserved something. Been asked to sign against the Boy Scouts- ’cause they dare stand by their policy against homosexuals serving as Scout Leaders.

…and the Mee-Maws. I’ve come to know that Mee-Maws aren’t the same as Nannas, who aren’t quite like Ma-Maws. They might get offended if called Grammy or Gammy, too. But these Mee-Maws have had supporters- and more than a few Mee-Maws have been (allegedly) abused by the mean ol’ banks, mean ol’ landlords and mean ol’ anyone else that’s ever crossed a Ma-M Mee-Maw.

But not a single one of the tons of Change.org petitions I’ve received has ever advocated a Conservative/Republican position- which begs the question of whether one could survive or thrive. I’m testing things out with a petition I feel is of vital importance- and one whose subject could impact a whole world of Mee-Maws. I’ve never been a “petition guy” (other than getting them), so we’ll see how my petition urging Americans to oppose the likely nomination of U.S. Ambassador Susan Rice as our next Secretary of State (and to urge their Senators to do likewise) fares.

The following is a link to my petition and its narrative:

http://www.change.org/petitions/all-u-s-citizens-urge-u-s-senators-to-oppose-susan-rice-secretary-of-state-nomination

U.S. Ambassador Susan Rice continues to tell the Obama Administration’s lies to the American public regarding the events leading to the deaths of 4 Americans- heroes who weren’t around to celebrate this Thanksgiving holiday with their families, and whose families continue to mourn their unnecessary and preventable deaths.

U.S. Senators John McCain (R-AZ) and Lindsey Graham (R-SC) have voiced their opposition to Rice’s likely nomination as out next Secretary of State- and even Washington Post liberal columnist Dana Milbank has agreed with their opposition.  “McCain, even if wrong on the particulars, is right about Rice,” he wrote.  He called Rice’s sticking to prepared talking points “revealing.”  She did that, he continued, “even though they had been contradicted by the president of the Libyan National Assembly, who, on CBS’s ‘Face the Nation’ just before Rice, said there was ‘no doubt’ that the attack on Americans in Benghazi ‘was preplanned.’ Rice rebutted the Libyan official, arguing — falsely, it turned out — that there was no evidence of such planning.”

Americans deserve excellence from our next Secretary of State, and today’s perilous times demand it.  Urge your U.S. Senator to assert their opposition to Susan Rice- and let’s move on to discussing a qualified Secretary of State candidate.
