A hero LIVED, too…

A hero LIVED, too…

A hero LIVED, too…

The video here and many other news stories to come will tell the story of how Windermere Police Officer Robert “Robbie” German was killed in the line of duty yesterday.  Many tributes are yet to come- including the Town of Windermere‘s calling for residents to place a blue ribbon on their mailboxes or poles through 4/21/14 in a Blue Ribbon Tribute to him.

Officer German died while on watch and looking to protect and to serve, which is exactly what his friends have said he always wanted to do.  But in seeking to honor Officer German‘s ultimate sacrifice, let’s also remember another thing: how he lived.

A couple of the photos above reflect his commitment to the children of Windermere– one showing him speaking to a group of them and another of him and Windermere‘s clerk posing proudly with a poster from local pre-schoolers.

Rest in peace, Officer German.  Others will surely step up and assume the watch.

A hero LIVED, too…
