Some words from my not-always-politically-correct self with regard to our upcoming ORRA Leadership Elections, fellow Realtor friends…First… If our association was all jacked up, I’d say so. I’d use whatever resources are available to me as a member of the leadership team in an effort to fix things- no doubt- but I’ve never had (nor will I ever have in the future) any desire to hide things from our members. Every member of Leadership shares that sentiment.
That said, please exercise your right to vote next week- and choose the candidate for President-Elect and candidates for our Board of Directors you feel is best to lead. But folks, don’t be scared into voting for anyone, don’t believe any unfounded rumors or rhetoric aimed at simply getting your vote for its own sake.
ORRA today is experiencing incredible growth, and it is financially sound. Under the leadership of President John Lazenby this year, more members will receive designations at no cost than ever before and the Gold Key course has been perhaps the most popular course we’ve ever offered.
Relationships between ORRA and WCR, ORRA and it’s affiliates and between ORRA’s volunteer leadership and paid staff- strained at times in the past- are now in better shape than ever.
Wacky concept I learned a while back- if something ain’t broke, don’t fix it. A desire for leaders who are at once vigilant and prudent is understandable, but calls for change solely for change’s sake are asinine- and fear-mongering geared toward influencing an election shouldn’t be rewarded.
When voting begins Monday at vote.associationvoting.com/orra, vote for sensible, reasoned and capable leasership- join me in voting Lisa Ford for ORRA President-Elect.
