No, I still haven’t graced the cover of the Rolling Stone (and don’t think I ever will)- but this short feature about me on Page 30 of the current issue of Florida Realtor magazine ain’t chump change!

I was surprised and humbled, quite frankly, when Florida Realtor’s Editor-in-Chief Doug Damerst approached me during our Florida Realtors mid-winter meetings back in February and asked if I’d be willing to speak with him for a bit about videos and such.  A quick check of ol’ Doug’s name tag revealed he was indeed who he claimed to be, and I was once again taken aback.  “This guy’s legit?  He wants to do a what on who?  Me?  He wants to interview me for a what?”

Folks that have spent any significant amount of time around me will attest to how I’ve never been one to get caught up in “Realtor stuff”.  Don’t drive a Buick, don’t care to have my mug on my business cards all Realtor-style and everything.  And when I’m showing properties, I don’t go all Realtor-style and point at everything:  if one is standing in front of an oven and can’t tell they’re in a kitchen…or looking at a toilet and need to be told they’re in the bathroom, they’ve got issues I can’t help them with or problems I surely can’t fix!

I do enjoy helping folks, though.  Whether it be a question from a property manager that’s new to the business or one from a fellow industry veteran that feels I might be able to help them with something, I’m always happy to assist.

So, I’ve got this feature thing on me and all…now what?

In a term that those “folks that have spent any significant amount of time around me” will also recognize, I’m just gonna keep livin’ my life.  I’m thankful to Doug for his article that most assuredly makes me appear better than I am, and I’m grateful for the recent opportunity our Orlando Regional Realtor Association (ORRA) afforded me in allowing me to sit as a panelist for our Effective Marketing of Rentals class.

And to all of my friends, fellow Realtors and colleagues who continue to offer words kinder than I could ever deserve and compliments greater than I ever need to receive… I offer you a sincere “Thank You”, an earnest “Much obliged” and a heartfelt “‘preciate ya”.
